Doublement mythique > Subaru Impreza STI CS 400 Au cours de l'histoire, Subaru et Cosworth se sont couverts de gloire en course. Leur collaboration fait naître aujourd'hui la très méchante Impreza STI CS 400. Pour y goûter, il faudra hélas s'exiler en Grande Bretagne… Depuis son retrait du championnat WRC, la marque Subaru perd peu à peu en Europe son aura sportive. Celle-ci reste cependant très vivace de l'autre côté de la Manche. La filiale britannique fait tout pour perpétuer le mythe, synonyme de succès commercial. Elle a donc choisi de développer une Impreza STI très spéciale, en collaboration avec un nom bien connu : Cosworth. Depuis sa revente par Ford en 2004, cette entreprise impliquée dans la course automobile s'est aussi spécialisée dans la préparation de moteurs Subaru. Basée sur le modèle STI de 325 ch, la CS400 conserve la même cylindrée de 2,5 litres. Cependant, le moteur a été profondément modifié : le turbo a été redessiné, l'électronique revue. Les pistons, les roulements moteur et la pompe à huile sont également spécifiques. L'auto développe désormais 400 ch (395 BHP) et 540 Nm de couple. Le châssis, rabaissé de 10 mm, a également fait l'objet d'une préparation soignée en collaboration avec Bilstein et Eibach. Les ressorts de suspensions sont nouveaux, tout comme les disques de freins de 355 mm. Les performances sont au niveau de certaines Supercars italiennes : le 0 à 100 km/h est abattu en 3,7 secondes et la vitesse maximale limitée à 250 km/h. Commercialisée à 75 exemplaires exclusivement en Grande Bretagne, cette nouvelle version sera facturée 49.995 livres soit 60.000 € au cours du jour.
