  1. Serge? has the right idea. johnathan.schwemler@ work e-mail johnathan.schwemler@ personal e-mail :) or Yves, you can always use the reply button! And it`s okay, I`m still working on saying Yves instead of my butchered english version that I say. ;)
  2. I hate to see the car leave the track, but you might get some interest from Ottawa`s track Paul. Send an e-mail to promotor Todd Gow @ todd@gowproperties.ca with the listing and some pictures. Capital City Speedway classifieds are listed @ http://www.capitalcityspeedway.ca/classifieds.htm Anything that is listed below the "Racer`s Garage Sale" is from the spring and older.
  3. It's legal at Capital City Speedway where he plans on racing the car. P.S. I read that without google translate... This forum is helping my comprehension.
  4. You received those broken parts (porte du driver, l`aile gauche, le bumper avant) when you bought the car Karol? If you did, give me a call, we might be able to work something out before this weekend. Johnathan Schwemler 438-402-4022
  5. Looking to pick up some body panels to prepare my car for next year. If any one has body panels available, it would be easy to pick them up at the Sportsman meeting on Saturday. Contact me with information before bringing them please. Here are the Ford Fusion bodied Sportsman panels that I`m looking for; Hood Porte du driver Passenger quarter panel L`aile droit These panels could be all smashed, as long as there is as much of the panel still there as possible (over 50%). (My family lives close to Performance Fibreglass` repair shop) ALSO, if anyone has FULL Sportsman bodies to sell, I know of a couple buyers. 6. Talk to me Saturday. Maybe with some wiser business sensed people we can come up with a way to help both the racers that are interested in running, and the track to increase it`s field (at least for the one special it runs a year), all without hurting our current racing at ASE. Trying this would benefit me a lot less than some others. Right now to be legal in Ottawa I just need manifolds, change the tranny to an auto, tires and to move my weight from the left side of my chassis more to the center. That also means I should be alot slower (which I am) than our ASE Sportsmans built to take full advantage of the rules. It is a balancing act to get all parties involved interested and sold on the idea, but it may be worth the effort. Johnathan Schwemler
  7. I wouldn't suggest Ottawa should change their car rules. I would suggest that we put weight on ours and change to their tires to equal the cars up.
  8. This would probably be better discussed in person, and I'm sure the main effort for the three cars that would benefit from the availablity of running in Ottawa would be the full season at ASE. That being said... The cars aren't much different, especially now that they went to fibreglass bodies. Our tires and weight placement really help our cars though. The car count in Ottawa is really hurting most nights, and if their end of year invitational event is on the same weekend as last year, it doesn't conflict with ASE. ASE's season will be complete, there wouldn't be any ill effect on either points championships etc. The bonus for Ottawa could be an increase in their car count (what did they have for their big show, 6 cars?) When my sponsor encouraged me to investigate running a second time the tech director wanted my sportsman to move up and run with their ACT latemodels. I think if there is interest that Todd and the others would look into it further, but it's going to take more than just the three of us asking individually if we can run. Sorry for highjacking your thread... We should take the interested parties and get together at the rules meeting and perhaps receive Yves' blessing before doing much more.
  9. karol, there's three of us that should get together and talk to capital city speedway about being allowed to run there. if you're at the meeting next week get ahold of me to talk about it
  10. I`ll be there, hopefully with some sort of translator! ;)
  11. August will be a busy month for the Sportsman... Great to see Yves! I like the 50 lappers and the 3 specials.
  12. :) Hoping so! Plus, there is an immediate and close market for the production framed Sportsman that are around. (and ex Pro-Trucks still out there) Biggest difference in the rules (as of this time) are Ottawa uses an automatic transmission (powerglide`s are allowed), manifolds vs. headers, tires and stock suspension mounting locations. There are some former Pro-Trucks converted back to Thunder Cars (Production) that pay a weight penalty for the slider style front upper control arm mounts. Our Productions weight more and Ottawa cars have a disadvantage on wieght placement. It`s reassuring to know that although I may not get top money for a production framed Sportsman, that there are tracks on the east and south of St-Eustache that the Sportsman can (with relatively small changes) run at.
  13. I had taken my 31 gameplaycanada.com ANCA Sportsman up to Capital City Speedway to play with some of my buddies and get some more seat time this summer, and the clean look of the Sportsman body was the talk of the night. The tech director had me park my car by the tech garage during the initial "draw" (for qualifying race positions) so that the competitors could see the car. ALOT of the Thundercar (read Production) guys were interested in the fibreglass bodies and I'm sure that our Sportsmans, plus the Ontario invitational races, combined to lead Capital City Speedway to follow ASE's lead in the fibreglass body department. Here is the link: http://capitalcityspeedway.blogspot.com/2011/10/new-thunder-car-bodies-allowed-for-2012.html "Wednesday, October 26, 2011New Thunder Car bodies allowed for 2012 In an attempt to bring in a new look for some cars in 2012 , we will open up the allowable bodies in the Thunder Class. The new company on the block is UCF which is now manufacturing Thunder Car bodies made out of a fiberglass. The fiberglass is made highly flexible to allow it to be banged and it will then resume its original shape, thus making it much easier to keep your car looking good all season. UCF is now considered a spec supplier for their bodies for Capital City Speedway. They have a 2011 Chev Camaro Body, a 2011 Ford Mustang and a 2011 Dodge Challenger. Other bodies may be purchased from Five Star Bodies which have a 88 Monte Carlo and AR Bodies which has an 88 Monte Carlo and a Chev Caprice Body. You may choose a steel bodied car of your choice as well. The requirements are that the body must resemble a street production car. Late Model style bodies are not acceptable. If you are unsure, please check with us. We will address any weight penalties at a later date, but all cars must still meet minimum weights as per the current rule structure. 14. Sorry, I would love to speak french. I have already gotten in trouble because my french is so horrible and google translate doesn`t work well.
  15. I said closer... Not 380, 355 plus... I don't think the 330 advertised is very accurate from GM. As far as I have been able to find out, mine is just a stock rebuild with nothing done to it. We laid my dyno over a friends LLM and you could see the difference his cam timing change did. There are some strong 602's out there, so I wouldn't be surprised to see someone say 380. Obviously you corrected the original poster which is a good thing.
  16. I had mine dynoed and it was closer to that with the 4412 than the advertised 330hp from GM.
  17. I realize it's the end of the season, but I thought I'd finally update this thread. The results from the first night I raced (the date of the last post) weren't the greatest. In hindsight I should have waited until I had a test session with the used car I bought before racing, but hindsight is always 20/20. The cooling system in the used car I bought wasn't working correctly, nor were the gauges, so the first time sitting in a stockcar I had the opportunity to learn what blowing an engine felt like. This event and another on track incident in my next race slowed down the progression of the car for this season. We worked hard to make the car safe and functional all season, while maintaining our scheduled sponsor displays in Ontario and Quebec. I am already putting marketing packages together for next year's sponsorship and have started crunching numbers for my favorite part, the chassis setup. There is good news coming for the gameplaycanada.com ANCA Sportsman for next year, we are just waiting for some final things to come together before we can make and announcements. Here's the highlight pictures for the season.... The car as I bought it in May. The temporary decals. At speed 10 Sept 2011, photo courtesy of Mario Shink.
