Hey guys, looking for some more help in finding information. I've been depending on my blackberry and I'm having a hard time relocating the purses for St Eustache's Sportsmans. What is the purse per night? How about the points fund? What points system do they use? Are the starting positions determined by pts or drawn for? Are the track contingency sponsors associated with a funded program? Thanks again guys for your help.

It's been brought to my attention that I'm missing out by not accepting the legitimacy of a camaro. Because of the nature of my employment, I will be moving away from montreal again, and need a car that can go with me. Unfortunately mustangs and camaros are illegal at the majority of canadian tracks. Racing is an espensive sport, and I'm planning ahead to maximize my budget.

Thanks for all the help guys. By now I've talked to the majority of people that have left numbers on this thread, either face to face or by phone. My employer has made it so that I can be in Montreal for the start of the season. Lynne Leclerc put a lot of effort into finding me a nice house with a good garage in Saint-Jacques--le-Minuer. I couldn't have bought the house without the help of JF Descarries who took time out of his days to advise and represent me in the final stages of the purchase. I move in the 17 of June. Over easter weekend I took work off early and reached out to some NASCAR CTS friends and have my new suit, helmet etc. Some of which will show up later. Small sponsorships from friends go a long way. I've had some long talks with successful racing friends and am curious of a couple of things. A. Are there anymore ESA sportsmans for sale? B. Are there any metric ESA productions for sale? C. Is there anyone that may be interested in doing a rental program for a ESA sportsman? Maybe a backup car? I'm having a great time so far and looking forward to meeting more of you. Everyone I have met so far has been more than generous and helpful, and I really appreciate it. Also thanks for helping me with my apparent language handicap, and I'm sorry that I didn't grow up in an area where french was taught. I'm sure I'll learn eventually. Thanks Johnathan Schwemler

Some of the tracks in SouthWestern Ont (Delaware for example) have used displays inside their malls, as in 20 plus cars, set up in spaces in the center of the aisles. One of my friends uses schools (as a show and tell day) to help promote a local track and his sponsors. Marketing towards kids may be a little shameless, but lets face it, even if "Dad" wanted to go to the races on a Saturday night, he still needs to convince "Mom" into spending the cash and bringing the kids. If the kids are shamelessly begging to go, "Mom" will make sure to make it a priority, and "Dad" probably won't argue. :) I haven't been to ASE for a long time, but if the crowds are harder to bring out like everywhere else, I agree that any publicity/marketing/promoting that can be done will help. I also have faith in the track ownership to do what they can do to improve cash flow at the track, both benefitting themselves and the competitors, and hopefully in the long term growing the sport in the area. -

Thank you everyone for your interest and information. I'm sure I'll be talking to some of you this week while I'm down to learn a little more. I'm leaning more towards purpose built racecars than production based, therefore, even though 4 cylinder classes normally have great racing, I'll be more likely going for one of the other series mentioned earlier. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Also thanks for mentioning the American track's rules, I followed your post through Isabelle Tremblay's thread and found it very useful. Looks like a couple of hours in the shop and you could have the car switched over very quickly. Any other input would be very helpful. Merci, Johnathan Schwemler

Oval I'm currently looking at the ACT, QSS, and St. Eustache Sportsman. my pro's for ACT - cars are plentiful - familiar w/ rules - can run at a large number of tracks - can run as a regular LM at most tracks in Ontario my con's for ACT - possibility of high travel cost - closest track (that I know of) St. Eustache does not run them weekly QSS, copy and past most of ACT pro's and con's, except it would be classed as a LLM under the Ontario Speedway Associations' rules. St. Eustache Sportsman pro's - local - metric chassis - slight rule differences compared to an advanced street stock in OSA region - 75 laps per feature (more seat time) - tire rule con's - there isn't a huge market for those style cars outside of Montreal (that I know of) - pricey compared to some other series - the high likelihood of being illegal at most tracks for other series (to gain seat time) Thunder Cars/ Street Stock/ Production is a high probability, depending on quality of cars and similarities between rule books of competing tracks. I'll be working in St. Hubert as a fabricator, so chances are I will be settling on the South Shore, unless I can find a garage/space to rent within the area. Thanks for you help guys.

Salut, I would attempt to type in french, but my french is so horrible no one would understand me, my apologies. My name is John and I am moving from out of province to Montreal for work. I have been involved with racing for many years at many levels (Nationwide, Hooters Pro Cup, NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, ACT, OSS, 600 Racing Legends, etc.) as a crew member and am interested in building or purchasing a car to drive in Quebec. I could use some help from someone that is good in english and unbiased towards any series (and near Montreal) to help me navigate my way through Quebec racing. I will be in the Montreal area from the 4th to the 11th of April to try to find a home. (please read a garage, with a bathroom, bedroom, and eating devices) :) If you have time to sit down, have a coffee, go through some rules, how series are run and their competition levels, and where the best places to live (aka work on racecars) are, please send me a message. I will also be looking for some other new things when I move.... 24ft ish enclosed trailer 2wd V8 truck to pull said trailer a house to buy, with garage / somewhere to work on racecar(s) where to find parts/used racecars (for sale locally, not just the classifieds here or racingjunk.com) Thank you for your time, (please respond to this post in french, I attempt to read it, and then use the translator to see if I'm close. IF I still don't understand, I will ask) Merci.
