  1. We're looking for a steel production style body to help out with a Canadian Heroes production/Thunder Car.
  2. As ASE Sportsman rebody their cars, I know of other racers looking for pieces to build bodies. Please feel free to e-mail pics and prices to johnathan.schwemler@jsracecars.com and I will pass them on.
  3. as seen on Jayski; Dexter Stacey forming own team: UPDATE: A new NASCAR Nationwide Series team is set to hit the track next month for their debut race in the Drive4COPD 300 at Daytona on February 23rd. The team name is KH Motorsports and it is owned and operated by 20-year old Canadian driver Dexter Stacey. Dexter made his NASCAR Nationwide series debut last season at Watkins Glen in the #23 R3 Motorsports car before running another 6 races throughout the season in the #39 Go Green Racing Ford with his best finish of 24th coming at Chicago in September. Not many details are available at this time as Stacey is still working on securing sponsorship and a manufacturer deal as well. What we do know is the team plans to run a full schedule and the crew chief of the KH Motorsports car will be veteran crew chief David Ingram. Ingram last worked with the #89 team of Morgan Shepherd for 5 races in 2011.(Apex Times)(1-8-2013) UPDATE: Dexter Stacey, who drove the #55 Dodge Challenger in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, will be making the jump to Ford in the Nationwide Series. He will now be using the same engines as Roush-Fenway Racing and Penske Racing in the Nationwide Series. Rumors are about that he could be making a push for the #55 as well, to match his old number in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.(Apex Times)(1-9-2013) http://apextimes.org/home/breaking-newsnew-nationwide-series-team-to-debut-at-daytona/
  4. Good luck in the NCATS race this year. You'll have a leg up on many of the drivers that have never raced at ASE before. Many drivers that have toured a little agree that ASE is the most difficult track in Canada. Best of luck throughout the 2013 season!
  5. Definately an LT1, but I see your point Mario. It must be out of a '97.
  6. I have an LT1 out of a '98 Trans Am, complete from intake to oil pan. Asking $350 438-402-4022
  7. Sure, I guess... I wouldn't really include Brighton into the Mosport / Peterborough / Kawartha region. I think Autodrome Saint-Eustache and Granby are closer to each other, and I don't think they'd be grouped together. Although geographically apart, Brighton Speedway has partnered with the BEST run track in Ontario (Merrittville Speedway, St Catharines), for a number of years and I believe run similar rules to Brockville Speedway (just up the 401) and Cornwall Speedway (up the 401 a little further). The asphalt race tracks in Ontario are split more/less based on what side of Toronto they are on... rules are similar, but more common within their perspective region based on hwy 404 as a divider. The futher west you go, the more advanced and lenient the rules are within the same division (generally speaking). Traditionally, one would say that the most advanced (lenient) rule books come from Delaware Speedway.
  8. Capital City Speedway's 2013 Rulebook has been released on their webpage. Biggest changes are within the Thunder Car division, where Metric tubular frames will be allowed.
  9. Spindles still have not been picked up, and will be reposted in the new year if I'm not in contact with the buyer.
  10. Nearby Peterborough Speedway management has gone out of their way to find a home for racers without a place to race. They've added an additional class to their current race night, as well as making slight modifications to some rulebooks. Prior to 2013, the region's tracks were already very close on rules (Mosport now CTMP, Kawartha, and Peterborough). Hopefully we'll see them return with a full schedule next season, although with the removal of slot machines from Ontario horse racing tracks (a move by Ont government), Kawartha Downs (KD) may loose their largest money maker. The Ontario Gaming Commission regulated slot machines were the main funding that had kept KD management from closing down the asphalt track over a number of unprofitable seasons. (sourced from former track management)
  11. The Malibu has the small 8 in it. I have too many 350 blocks and parts sitting around here that I may consider going with the car. I kept this one specifically for the frame.
  12. The Mailbu is stored at my house near Napierville. The place in the photos is a four hour drive from Montreal, and yes I have some other cars still there. I still have an early 80's Monte LS and a 4dr Olds Cutlass. Economically speaking, it's most likely not cost efficient to pay for the fuel to go and get them. The spot is a place where a group of friends store project cars, etc. so that we don't need to store them at our houses. There's also a 24 hr garage with two hoists and a paint booth that once your a member of the group you are able to use. When I moved away, we were transporting nearly 10 cars every Capital City Speedway enduro. (2 hrs away)
  13. Howard, I'm unable to attend Firday, could you fwd the information to me after the meeting? Thank you, Johnathan
  14. I was just sharing news... And, I care. Just because a track is big enough to run national touring events doesn't necessarily mean that is the only thing that will race there, for example, the late models raced at Sanair last year. Yes, local racing is important to the region, but large events like the NAPA weekends at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve help bring attention to people that may be new fans at the local level.
  15. Thanks to J.R. Fitzpatrick for providing the photo from the NASCAR Champions Awards ceremony in Charlotte last week.
  16. Two property owners in the area are upset and have stated to the Niagra Region press that they no longer have a deal with CMS to buy their properties. They cite that the continiued delays, the legal costs they've accumulated due to the delays, and the stress caused has affected their quality of life and they are no longer interested in dealing with CMS management. When questioned about the latest delay/agreement, the two property owners shared that they had been in position to sell their homes Nov 11th and provided a answering machine recording with CMS management ensuring them that the funds would be there to complete the sales. When the transaction didn't happen, neither party (CMS vs. Property Owners) contacted one another. The Niagra Region press reporting the story mentioned that they had been in contact with CMS management and CMS was still in the belief that they had a deal with the property owners. CMS management also explained that since 9/11 that it's much harder to transfer funds into North America from the Middle East and it was the major cause of the most current delay. Comments from locals showed a varied opinion, some taking pleasure in yet another hurdle for CMS, some supporting the track and the economic relief to the area while local racing fans commented on the fact that the property owners were looking for leverage to increase their profits from the property sale. Personally, I'm hoping that this is just a matter of money and this project continues. With the recent announcement of NCTS coming to Canadian Motorsport Park, I don't believe that it would be too farfetched to see the K&N East, ARCA and similar level touring series make a stop in the region. If NASCAR is unable to come to an agreement with Octane or a similar organization for Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, CMS may be an ideal place to bring the Nationwide Series across the border again.
  17. I am selling a stock, running, 80's 4 door Malibu. I was holding on to it because of the great frame and body. Also has chrome bumpers front and rear in really good condition. It runs, but needs work and the transmission is slipping. $800 or trade for double wide tempo.
  18. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will be racing at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park roadcourse on Labour Day weekend, 2013. Expect announcements from the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series to follow! http://www.torontosun.com/2012/11/16/bowmanville-track-secures-nascar-event
