Brochures: Références des pieces : http://www.err0neous.org/mbz/w208.pdf The CLK range in general The Mercedes-Benz W208 coupes (C208) and convertibles (A208) were produced from 1997 to 2002. They were sold under the CLK-Class model names. The W208 models were the CLK 200 4-cylinder (from MY2000 also with Kompressor), CLK230 Kompressor 4-cylinder, CLK 320 V6, CLK 430 V8 and CLK 55 AMG. All models were available in both coupe and cabriolet form. All of them had four seats so that families could sit comfortably. The CLK introduced a new market niche for Mercedes-Benz. Although the W208 used components from the E-Class (W210) and had a specification level higher than the E-Class, it was in fact based on the less expensive C-Class (W202) platform. The CLK features a number of innovative accessories and systems, such as tow-away protection and an emergency transmission mode. The W208 was succeeded by the W209, also called the CLK. CLK 55 AMG: Engine The CLK AMG is powered by a hand-assembled 5.5-litre V8 engine. The hardware list reads like that of a race car: super-stiff forged billet steel crankshaft, forged, weight-matched connecting rods and pistons, lightweight AMG-specific camshafts churns inside the pressure-cast aluminum block of this chain-driven single overhead-cam V8 with two intake and one exhaust valves per cylinder, as well as 16 coils and 16 spark plugs (two spark plugs per cy). Its bore and stroke are nearly the same, which makes it an ideally balanced engine. The complex dual-resonance intake manifold with carefully tuned runners helps create an explosive compression ratio of 10.5:1 which is mostly what delivers the healthy 342 hp (255 kW) and 376 lb•ft (510 N•m) of torque. Transmission The five-speed automatic transmission is adapted from the gearbox used in the V-12 S-class models, because that gearbox can take the torque. It is fully adaptive and electronically-controlled, and is a stronger unit than that of the CLK430. Also a larger four-bolt driveshaft that's four inches in diameter connects to a reinforced rear differential to keep all the extra power under control. Standard traction control keeps wheelspin to a minimum, while its Electronic Stability Program (ESP) keeps the CLK on its intended path. Handling The standard CLK chassis is used, and while the current version is not based on the new C-Class platform, the AMG version of the CLK offers some special undercarriage components. The four-wheel independent suspension is basically the same as the lesser CLK versions, but AMG fits higher-rated springs, tighter shock valving, larger diameter anti-roll bars and stiffer suspension bushings. The resulting firmer, more controlled ride is made even tighter by its high-performance ZR-rated low-profile tires. The brakes have been enhanced as well. The huge four-wheel discs are larger and thicker than the other CLKs, and the rear discs are specially vented to enhance cooling. An anti-lock braking system is standard, while Brake Assist applies full braking force in panic stop faster than a driver could. It rides on AMG Monoblock alloy wheels, 7.5" front and 8.5" rear, shod with 225/45ZR17 and 245/40ZR17 Michelin Pilots.

http://www.ragtop.org/mbbrochures/2005/clclass.pdf http://www.ragtop.org/mbbrochures/2005/clclass.pdf http://www.ragtop.org/mbbrochures/2003/CL-Class.pdf Le magnifique et EXCEPTIONNEL CL 65 AMG !! http://www.ragtop.org/mbbrochures/2004/int-cl65-amg.pdf The third generation of the CL is the W215-chassis coupé of 2000 2 2006. It is based on the 1999-2004/5 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, though it rides on an 8-inch (203 mm) shorter wheelbase. It is offered as four models: the V8-powered CL500, the supercharged V8-powered CL55 AMG, the V12-powered CL600, a 2001 limited-edition V12-powered CL63 AMG, and the rare bi-turbo V12-powered CL65 AMG. All models seat four. The CL coupes come equipped with the very latest in Mercedes-Benz technology, and the CL is always the first model to receive new technological features (it introduced the refined Active Body Control fully-active suspension system and Bi-Xenon HID lights).[citation needed] The CL-class has a lengthy list of available features. The following features come standard: climate control, full air suspension, all-leather interior, wood trim, trip computer, CD, navigation system, front heated seats, power moonroof, as well as power door and trunk closing assist. Optional features include a heated steering wheel and voice-activated telephone, as well as front fan-cooled seats. The CL63 AMG is the rarest W215 CL of all. It was produced only in November 2001, and just 26 examples were ever built for sale. The V12-powered CL63 AMG was only sold in Europe and Asia. Mercedes-Benz never offered the W215 CL63 for sale; all were sold exclusively through AMG with a base price of £110,000 (~US$200,000).[citation needed] From 1999 through 2002, the V12-equipped cars feature a cylinder deactivation system called Active Cylinder Control. The feature was dropped when the 500 hp (370 kW) bi-turbo V12 was introduced. Exclusive “designo” packages are also available. These packages add custom color metallic paint, custom color Nappa leather interior and exotic wood trims. They are available in three variants: designo Cashmere, designo Espresso and designo Silver. In European markets, there was even an optional granite trim that took the place of wood. This was never available in the United States. In 2003 the cars were upgraded with a newer electronics package that included a DVD-based navigation system instead of the CD-based COMAND system. Also, the engine options changed. The CL55 AMG became supercharged and the V12 CL600 had turbochargers added. Both cars produced 500 hp (370 kW). [edit] Engines As with all major German manufacturers (except Porsche) Mercedes electronically limits their cars to 250 km/h (155 mph). The justification for having two models with the same power (CL600 and CL55 AMG) is that the CL55 AMG is sportier and more responsive, while the more expensive CL600 is more luxurious with a smoother ride. The CL65 AMG is made to order in very small numbers, and is the most powerful CL to date. :D
