Une petite lecture qui pourrait vous éviter de vous faire jeter hors du site ou éviter que votre équipe se fasse disqualifier... ''The Basics All event logistics have been published. See the links below for more information: Event Information Competition Schedule (Note that Design and Sales are on the same day, and that the event begins on Wednesday afternoon) Design Schedule Sales Presentation Schedule Facility Information & Policies Highlights · No smoking! The Edwards Demonstration & Learning Center property (including all outdoor areas) is a non-smoking facility. · No one under the age of 12 is allowed on site. · No one under the age of 18 is allowed in the pit/paddock area. · No pets permitted on site (Service animals are exempt) · Closed-toe shoes made of substantial construction with puncture-resistant soles are required for everyone on site. Shoes should be made of strong material and must cover the entire foot (no sandals, high heels, ballet flat, etc). · Cooking/grilling anywhere on the facility is not allowed. Outside food is not permitted on site (Caterpillar has a food service contract with Eurest Dining Services). Lunch will either be provided or be made available for purchase on event days, and concession stands will be open to purchase additional food and beverage items outside of lunch hours. There are NO exceptions for these policies. For example, if you arrive with flip flops on, you will be turned away. Familiarize yourself with the complete list of policies here. On-Site Facility Waiver The Caterpillar Edwards Demonstration & Learning Center requires every participant to sign a separate waiver to enter their facility. This waiver was included with the Fast Track rosters emailed to every team captain and faculty advisor. If you did not receive it, you may download it here. Team members must sign before coming on site. Fast Track Registration Teams received a final PDF roster. Green and yellow teams can send one Team Captain or Faculty Advisor to the Fast Track Registration line if all members were included on your final roster. Incomplete rosters and red teams must report to the Incomplete Registration Line with all members. ALL TEAMS SHOULD PRINT THEIR ROSTER. For more information, check out the full description. Notes from our National Tech Team · Two biggest missed frame items at UTEP were FLC being made out of secondary material and the RRH/RHO triangulation bars being made out of secondary material. · Clarification of Rule B8.3.8 Front Bracing Members (FBM) · Clarification of Rule B12.1/Fuel System Location · Clarification of Rule B16.1.1/B10.5.3 Neck Support/Collar Roll Cage Spec Sheet The 2014 Roll Cage Spec Sheet has been published. This sheet MUST be completed and submitted in accordance with the competition rules. Failure to do so will result in penalty. The purpose of this sheet is to facilitate verification of roll cage materials/construction, and to provide a means of tracking the age of older vehicles. This is being done in the interest of good engineering practice and confirming the fabrication techniques of the team Design Comparison Document All 2013 Top 10 Overall Winners must complete the 2014 Design Comparison Document and have it available at your design judging at every event you are attending in 2014. If you have additional questions, you may contact Sam Barill at barill@sae.org. Briggs and Stratton Governor Check An enhanced processed has been developed for Briggs and Stratton governor check, which will occur during the first day of the competition. The first 30 Baja vehicles in line for Briggs and Stratton Governor Check will receive a laminated number indicating their number in line. Essentially, teams will line up as normal, and an inspector will distribute the numbers in the lineup order to those first 30 teams. This will be the only vehicles checked on the first day. In addition, as in past events, those will also be the first teams to go through technical inspection the next morning. So, be prepared, check the schedule, be ready and be informed! Frame Design Pre-Check We introduced Frame Design Pre-Check this season, and many of you took advantage of this opportunity! If your team’s frame design form was approved, you will still report to the regular Tech Inspection line. The Tech Inspectors will have a list of approved submissions. Tech Take a Number There is some confusion regarding the Take-a-Number system for Honda Technical Inspection. The first 30 cars through Briggs & Stratton will be Tech Numbers 1-30 for the next day. Any car that passes Briggs & Stratton after those first 30 will have to get a Tech Number from the staff working the Technical Inspection Area. Please do not wait in line unless you have a Tech Number. It is not a first come first serve basis. Also, the mobile.bajasae.net site will show the Tech Number that they are serving. However, please keep an eye on the line as well and what numbers are being queued. There is no guarantee that the website is accurate, as there may be network outages. Transponders As a reminder, as you’re going through Technical Inspection, have your transponder charged to be checked and recorded if necessary. All Baja vehicles must have a transponder mounted on the vehicle. SAE International will not have any available on site. Cost Audits Teams will be randomly selected for Cost Audits. If selected, your team will receive notice via email and at Registration. Teams will be given an appointment time, which will already be coordinated with their Design and Sales Evaluation times. Dynamic & Endurance Policies · All events will have a hard shut down at 5:00 PM. If your car is not on the track at 5:00 PM, you will not be given the opportunity to run. · Each team must have two identical fire extinguishers. · Repairs Only in the Pits/Paddocks – Repairs may only be done in your pit/paddock. No repairs are permitted on any dynamic event course, staging area or the practice track. Do not have tools in, or with, your car. · Hands Only - Any adjustment/repair that requires a tool must be done in your pit. · Dynamic Event Staging: Driver and Escort – Only the driver and one escort are allowed in the dynamic event staging areas. Note – Dynamic event access is dependent on the topography and configuration of individual courses and may be revised. You must follow the restrictions of the event in which you are participating. · Dynamic Courses: Driver Only – Only drivers and course marshals are allowed on the dynamic event courses. · No Work on Course – If your car becomes disabled during a dynamic event - including Endurance - it must be returned to the pits for repairs. No on-course repairs during any event. · Recovery Procedure – (1) Disabled vehicles will be pushed off course by the course marshals. (2) The marshal will notify the recovery crew. (3) Your car will be towed to your pit/paddock as soon as a recovery crew becomes available. Please do not badger the recovery crews; they will work as quickly as practical. Food On-Site Students will be provided lunches for all three days including the Honda lunch on Friday. You will receive three lunch tickets when you register that can be exchanged for lunches. Baja SAE Mobile Updates This year, we will be introducing new technologies to make it easier for teams and fans to follow the events.
