  1. GM is back ordered as well, unless I go to the states.
  2. Unfortunately Serge doesn't have one in stock and they're back ordered through his distributor. Thanks Yves.
  3. Found a 602, I still need to find a flywheel. The engine is being put back in the car on Monday, so I need to order one soon. Johnathab Schwemler 438 402 4022 Merci!
  4. Anyone have a sealed 602 crate laying around?
  5. Thanks, I think I need the ones w/ the 3 round rings around the plug, I tried my ipod ones and they wouldn't work. I'm not sure what the raceceiver use...
  6. Looking to borrow these parts for the night tonight... I have stuff ordered, although my parts are in transit. 1 x ear phones for driver to work w/ standard in car radio wiring 1 x 15" x 8", 5 x 5" rim w/ 3" backspacing -the condition isn't a worry, round, holds air... (it's for the spare) Merci beacoup! my cell; 438-402-4022 Johnathan Schwemler
  7. I'm working on it... Last night I finished remounting the driver's seat, fabricating new mounts for the belts and installing them. This morning I'm hanging the body, bleeding the brakes, and a bunch of other small things. I'm behind on where I want to be because of some parts orders not being delivered when they were promised. I should have ordered them through Serge Morin instead! ;) For tonight, I'd like to see if someone could lend me a set of ear phones for the incar radio. mine are in the mail somewhere. And if anyone had an extra 15x8" rim with 3" backspacing to lend me for the night (for my 6th tire). Thanks guys, I'll have more things straightened out for the 30th. (I'd like to thank Pro-Van and Morin Performance for going out of their way and providing excellent customer service after some other deals fell through or didn't meet the deadlines)
  8. I was hoping someone from ANCA could confirm or deny the availability of the number 19 and 31 as ANCA Sportsman Registered numbers. I'll also post some pics from the new garage, the main reason behind not being out on the track yet... (other than moving from Ontario etc.) The former owner's setup. With everything getting unpacked and put away.
  9. Shh... don't get me nerfed the first time I get infront of someone JF! lol I'm not sure if everyone is calling their cars tanks... but google translator translates it into that everytime I get confused and frustrated. lol To you gentleman out there who are bilingual, my hats off to you. Now, I am finished hijacking this thread. Who is the driver of the #0? Does he have previous experience? Where?
  10. Oh, and, that #0 should be a great car. It looks good with that paint scheme. It was one of the cars I had looked at in April and I kind of regret not snapping it up. :)
  11. I am *fingers crossed* hoping to have the car to the track for around the 23rd of July. I am still in the process of getting the garage ready, ordering parts, and ordering tools (scale, bumpsteer gauge, etc.). The electrician comes in Thursday to wire in my welder and compressor. I could throw the car together and be on the track tomorrow... but I would like to make some changes and be a little better prepared. Stephane sold me a decent car, but there are many changes that can be done though to make the car more comfortable for a rookie driver. If I am ready for the 23rd I would love to have the car shaken down, and then join you guys again on the Tuesday night (26th). I have been floating around the pits the last couple of races and sat in the stands to watch, see who's who, the lines, how the show is run, etc. Again, I think the cars have great potential, that's one of the reason's I picked this class. Plus, if you look at how things are going in the states, this is a very popular car. The majority of Ontario is slowly allowing more and more into their "Thundercar/Street Stock" rule books. Our Sportsman cars would have been legal at the recent "Race of Champions" at Flamboro speedway, a Thundercar invitational mixed with 3 former NASCAR Stars (Kenny Schrader, Jimmy Spencer, Ernie Irvan). The ASE Sportsman are very close to the event winner's (J.R. Fitzpatrick) street stock. Camaro fibreglass body, Nova front and rear clips (the main difference), late model ish center section, tubular upper control arms, stock ish lowers, Ford floating 9" rearend, 602 crate engine, etc. Now, I can't deny anyone the right to run Production, it's a great class as well. Almost any track in Ontario will allow you to run, including the dirt tracks. There isn't an over whelming amount of things to change or play with if your following the rulebook. It's a good place to learn and develop, and so are the Sportsman. I cannot afford the body work of learning at an ACT race w/ 30 cars and everyone out there with something to prove. I just realized I can save a tonne of money on balljoints if I order the lower control arms and the upper control arms both made to accept the small dodge threaded ball joints. No need to have the 4 bolt uppers and the press in lowers anymore, and the control arms are about the same cost as stock. I think that there are weld in inserts available to change the stock lower control arms over as well. Anyways, I'm done telling lies and secrets for the day ;), looking forward to the next time I can make it to the track, and having my "tank" ready.
  12. I agree with all the parts being the same cost, give or take a small amount. The added bonus is that the sportsman rules allow more adjustability of the suspension, theoretically allowing the car to handle better and therefore not be as hard on tires, brakes, bodies, etc. I see no reason why a well prepared G-body cannot run up front and win. Don't get me wrong, Morin Chassis are well built, BUT someone who applies the right knowledge and prepares the car correctly can easily be in contention for the win. Now speaking of which, I need to go buy some parts so that my hotrod will run well when I finally make it to the track. This year will be a great test session for next!
  13. I was by the shop today and took a look at this chassis... Its well thought out and could easily be a front runner.
  14. Here's those pictures that I promised earlier from LAST weekend. http://i28.servimg.com/u/f28/16/48/83/36/dscf0110.jpg http://i28.servimg.com/u/f28/16/48/83/36/dscf0111.jpg http://i28.servimg.com/u/f28/16/48/83/36/dscf0112.jpg Some of my friends stopped by to help and brought their kids. The picture of the lil boy is Ethan, Blair's son and the little girl is Rob's daughter, Brianna.
  15. From all the photos it looks like everyone else had fun this weekend! I really wanted to come and watch, but drove home (4 hrs to the garage in Petawawa) to get some wrench time in with the car. Congratulations to the 66 for his first win of the season. I`ve been making some phone calls and arranging to call in some favours. Right now I have some talented mechanics and suspension guys arranged to do a thrash on the car during the first week of June. Obviously there has been a call out to the Sportsman drivers *cough cough* to get their cars out to the track. Depending on what happens in the next couple of weeks I may show up a little early. Actually.... considering that my plan was to run next year, and use this year as a research season, I may be 3/4 of a season early! ;) I`ll post pictures of the *naked* sportsman after I get home from work. If anyone has equipment sitting around that they`re looking to sell, or even lend out at an agreed arrangement it would help me get on the track sooner. Things I don`t have yet.... radios a decent body to take pictures for the sponsor with (I have a Fusion, but brand doesn`t matter in this case) a paint scheme a number.... scales levelling pads for the scales Once the car gets alot closer to seeing the track, I`d like to rent it and shakedown the car. If it`s possible (Ontario insurance is different than Quebec) I`d like to run with another Sportsman so that I`m comfortable with St. Eustache`s unique layout. Hope to see you guys soon... keep the shiny side down, and hopefully *fingers crossed* some more cars start coming out! Johnathan Schwemler
  16. Mine's a Ford Fusion, but I'll take anything. Are the noses the only difference?
  17. Goodmorning guys, I'm looking for a front bumper, rear bumper and right rear quarter panel for the older sportsman bodies. Merci beaucoup! Johnathan Schwemler 613-401-2575
  18. If they`re still not sold... you might try listing them on one of the Ontario sites. They are really popular around London. http://www.jcarracing.ca/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=7
  19. Unfortunately, no. I was busy picking up the trailer and didn't get a chance. I'll be able to buy the tires later, but for right now inspecting and repairing the car is more important. I should mention I still haven't moved to my new house yet, or completed all the other stuff changing provinces entails. Thanks Yves, I'll call with questions when things slow down at work.
  20. I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me so far, Mr JF Descarries for all his advice and finding a good car for a great price, Lynne Leclerc for driving across Montreal to the south shore for a whole week to find me a house with a big enough garage. Isa Tremblay for recommending Lynne. Tammy and Serge at Morin Performance as well as Allen and Yves at the track for all the clarification on rules (google translate does not translate the rule books very well). Jamie Hackonson at Fast Eddie Raceware may never see this, but she took the time to personaly help me decide on my gear and made sure that I wasn't needlessly overspending. If it weren't for all these people I could have easily made decisions that would not allow me to obtain my future goals. JF especially has allowed me to find what I needed to accomplish the required tasks. I'm looking forward to racing in the St Eustache Sportsman Series, to learning and developing both chassis development and race craft skills, and spending hours in the shop with my beloved welder. I may not end up staying in Montreal as long as everyone else, but already I feel like I've made some lifelong friends. There are still a ton of things that I will need before going out on the track, and I'm sure even more people that I will meet before then, and I'm looking forward to it. Keep posting your used equipment in the classifieds, it's the first place I look! Merci beaucoup! Johnathan Schwemler.
