  1. Hi Yann, not yet. The M8 and another w.i.p. still take too much time to start yet another project. And I have to move next year so I started to pack my entire collection. I suppose I won't be able to start this custom before 2nd half of 2015.
  2. Thanks! Currently there's no OttO in progress but the M8 based on Revell: http://www.otto-modelsfans.com/t2189p20-termine-bmw-740il-e38-individual-fjord-grey-burgundy# Plans for next OttO/GTS-based customs: - shortened E38 (SWB) -> Alpina B12 6.0 • White - E12 -> Alpina B7 • Amazonit Green - 1M Coupe -> Lime Green w/ Performance Parts - RS4 Avant -> Suzuka Grey w/ black trim My latest diecast custom was the 535i GT F07 [RM • Frozen White with M-package:
  3. Background is the headquarter of ThyssenKrupp Corp. in Essen.
  4. Better pics: Arizona Sun in the sun
  5. Thank you for all kind comments! It's done! Hopefully the weekend gets sunny for nice outdoor pics.
  6. Thanks! Today's work turned out perfect: • paint job "Arizona Sun" • detail painting • smoked taillights and indicators
  7. Thank you, mates! Bodyshell work is done:
  8. My current custom project: BAUR Topcabrio TC2
  9. Merci! I just add carpet and seat belts, no other mods. So I didn't take photos of it, sorry.
  10. Thank you! UPDATE: Wheels (16" Borbet A by Uli Nowak) and door handles (scratch-built from 0,5 x 2,0mm styrene) done.
  11. Hi guys! Another custom I did during X-mas holidays: BMW 740iL (E38) Individual - Fjord Grey/Burgundy w/ Shadowline and M-parallels I was very happy about the E38 by OttO but not quite satisfied with the spec and color choice. Regarding the sporty spirit of the most beautiful 7series ever I prefer it without chrome trim and on other wheels. So again I had to create my own version. I stripped and repainted it in #310 Fjord Grey: Something on the front of stock version looks weird and by taking it apart I found the reason. The headlamp glasses are very thick and the light refraction from the edges causes a bright frame around. I just lined the edges with a black marker which makes a huge difference (2nd picture: left side original, right side fixed): The other spot is the protruding kidney grille which looks too massive. After pulling it out I grinded it from the back down to half size (again left side original, right side fixed): Further I blacked the inner grille bars so that's why it's no 750 anymore (optically). I replaced the wheels by 18" M-parallels (from Uli Nowak) and repainted the interior into Burgundy, enhanced with carpet and fabric belts. So that's my idea of a tasty E38:
  12. Thank you, mates! Today I could finish a lot of details: The side windows for front doors can be shortened from original parts but the rear have to be cut from scratch. New door handles will be done by styrene. For interior and wheels I need the airbrush but my compressor conked out on Monday so I have to get a new one first.
  13. I the E30 and want to have the complete range of all versions. Since OttO currently has no plans on the sedan or wagon, I started my own conversion from 2-door to 4-door: First I took all messures from photos and marked it on the plain body. Then cut the B-pillars and placed it 6mm forward. Since the C-pillars are stronger I had to grind it all down and build new window frames from styrene here. Then I spackled and sanded the old gaps and door openers and engraved the new lines with a knife. This was the most difficult part so far. After that I fillered the body and cut the shutlines once again until it looked fine. Today it was painted in original BMW #218 Alpin White II: Tomorrow I'll do all black details like this one: It will get 16" Borbet A from Uli Nowak with white center and polished dish. 8)
  14. I received this beauty today and had to do some small changes immediately: • rims taken from S2 Coupe, equipped with tires from the GT (initially I aimed to put on Borbet A from Uli Nowak but those are way too wide for the narrow wheel housings ) • decolored front indicators Thank you, OttO, for this beautiful piece of 80`s! Now I would be pleased to see an Audi 80 B2 Lim. (pre-facelift), preferably as a white GTE and/or a (tizian)red Quattro!
  15. Sorry, my photobucket account hit the bandwidth limit. It's fixed now.
  16. Merci beaucoup! You're right, the front ride is too high and too wide. I recognized that too late when I was already out for the pictures. I'll correct that.
  17. And done! A storm is coming up, thunder is rolling already. Or is it just the 4,2l-V8?
  18. Thanks! Half year back I already built the early version of E30 cabrio. Of course not OttO-based but self-made from AUTOart M3 Evo. I'm glad to have both now.
  19. My favorite work: interior refining! before: Deadly dullness, unworthy for a luxury car! So I chose my favorite combo: Saddle Brown/Black with light birch wood. I it! Enhanced with carpet, colored seat belts and floor mats with piping and etched Audi lettering. after: Now this is what I call a luxury ambience!
  20. I have no pics of disassembling steps, sorry. But it's not that difficult. Unscrew the base plate. The interior is built up of 4 parts: the inner shell with seats, the dashboard and both door trims (I will take pics of it when I repaint it tomorrow). All is fixed with hot glue and to remove easily. Windows and lamp glasses can be removed by fingernails. They are just slightly glued. IMPORTANT: Remove all glue remainings from the window frames conscientiously! If you paint it over it's impossible to put the windows back in place flush. For grilles and headlamp inlets you need a sharp scalpel. Go along the gaps and try to release the parts by levering very carefully without breaking. It needs some time and sentience, they may be glued heavily. Emblems can be scratched off, there are spare parts coming along with each model in the foam box. Now just sand the whole body with #400 sandpaper and clean it thoroughly. Oh, and I didn't remove the tiny foglamps but covered them with masking fluid (Revell Color Stop) instead. That works well. Ready for painting! If you have any further question feel free to ask. Good luck!
