Due to the combination of resistance and lightweight, the 2010 chassis figures amongst the most minimalist. The side and front impact members were optimised to assure a better visibility and more space for the driver without sacrificing the rigidity and the security of the vehicle. The chassis is made of 4130 chromoly tubes of 1” and 1.25” of diameter. This type of high performance steel is used in motorsports and aviation industry. It is recognized for its good resistance and because it is easy to weld. The chassis has a total weight of 50 lbs which is extremely light. The amount of tubes on the chassis was reduced to a minimum by making a finite element analysis with Abaqus. The braking system on the 2010 Baja SAE is based on a proven concept that has been simplified as much as possible. The vehicle has four-wheel disk brakes and custom designed master cylinders. The custom design eliminates all bending forces and greatly reduces the possible losses due to friction, thus decreasing the driver's effort on the pedal. This year, the team has a CVT that is related to an integrated self-locking differential transmission box. The benefits of using a differential, although very challenging, are multiple. For instance, it improves the behaviour of the vehicle while cornering and also improves its overall performances. As a matter of fact, having wheels that can turn at different speeds reduces both the losses and the effort applied to the CVT which, in return, keeps its optimal position. A laser cut aluminum sub-frame ensures the millimetric precision of the assembly in order to allow the best operation conditions.

les prix ont augmentés. je ne sais pas cmb on veut payer, mais voici les deals de la petite madame: années antérieures: environs 25$ cette année: 40$ pour mettre ca beau avec un des étoiles couleurs charcoal sur le coté et le contour punché (dans le genre quon avait parlait marie) prix normal suppl: 40$ notre prix suppl: 30$ donc normal: 40$ de luxe, beau: 70$ je dois rappeler ajd.
