Capital City Speedway follows ASE's example!

Messages recommandés

I had taken my 31 gameplaycanada.com ANCA Sportsman up to Capital City Speedway to play with some of my buddies and get some more seat time this summer, and the clean look of the Sportsman body was the talk of the night. The tech director had me park my car by the tech garage during the initial "draw" (for qualifying race positions) so that the competitors could see the car. ALOT of the Thundercar (read Production) guys were interested in the fibreglass bodies and I'm sure that our Sportsmans, plus the Ontario invitational races, combined to lead Capital City Speedway to follow ASE's lead in the fibreglass body department.

"Wednesday, October 26, 2011New Thunder Car bodies allowed for 2012
In an attempt to bring in a new look for some cars in 2012 , we will open up the allowable bodies in the Thunder Class. The new company on the block is UCF which is now manufacturing Thunder Car bodies made out of a fiberglass. The fiberglass is made highly flexible to allow it to be banged and it will then resume its original shape, thus making it much easier to keep your car looking good all season. UCF is now considered a spec supplier for their bodies for Capital City Speedway. They have a 2011 Chev Camaro Body, a 2011 Ford Mustang and a 2011 Dodge Challenger.

Other bodies may be purchased from Five Star Bodies which have a 88 Monte Carlo and AR Bodies which has an 88 Monte Carlo and a Chev Caprice Body.

You may choose a steel bodied car of your choice as well. The requirements are that the body must resemble a street production car. Late Model style bodies are not acceptable. If you are unsure, please check with us.

We will address any weight penalties at a later date, but all cars must still meet minimum weights as per the current rule structure.

:) Hoping so! Plus, there is an immediate and close market for the production framed Sportsman that are around. (and ex Pro-Trucks still out there)

Biggest difference in the rules (as of this time) are Ottawa uses an automatic transmission (powerglide`s are allowed), manifolds vs. headers, tires and stock suspension mounting locations. There are some former Pro-Trucks converted back to Thunder Cars (Production) that pay a weight penalty for the slider style front upper control arm mounts. Our Productions weight more and Ottawa cars have a disadvantage on wieght placement.

It`s reassuring to know that although I may not get top money for a production framed Sportsman, that there are tracks on the east and south of St-Eustache that the Sportsman can (with relatively small changes) run at.
