I decided to start a thread on my mini project i started in 2008.

The car:
1983 Volkswagen cabriolet
Triple white edition
Rolling zandvoort's
1.7L 8V Engine (Big 74 h.p)
3 speed Automatic Transmission.





I bought this car from a work firend that knew i was a vw guy for 200$. The car ran really great enginewise, so i had fun with it on the road with the 10 day ontario permit.

the cabby is flat leather brown. and tremclad black textured semi-gloss for the trim, wipers door handles, flairs.. cheap and easy.. not oem thats too bad but its too expensive to go oem+ on this practice project. the mark1 gti will be oem++ when i get the money, time and expierence.

So today i started looking for a g60 engine set up. The transmission stays automajic.

what do people think? rebuild the original 1.7l or find and rebuild a g60?

i know its crazy ridiculous to stay automatic. but its a chick car.. and will be better off in the end if any chick can drive it. Like my mom. lol

Plus brokeforspeed (chad) seems interested in helping me with this setup and Rune (auto allemange) just offered to sell me a G60 set up.
